DETOXIFY
On any given day we come in contact with a wide variety of toxins, from the air, the food, and the environment we live in.
Depending on our immune systems, we may be more sensitive to some toxins than others.
It is a good idea, in order to maintain the health of our bodies and minds, to take steps to minimize the amount of toxins we encounter.
Nonetheless, we live with substances that may have an affect on our systems.
There are a number of ways to detoxify your body.
The basics are:
-To flush them out... by drinking pure water. Adding lemon to water helps create alkalinity in a predominant acidic belly.
-To sweat them out... when we raise the body temperature, we sweat, and via our skin, known as the third kidney, toxins are released.
-To cleanse through diet... giving the digestive organs a break and allow the body to self cleanse.
-Massage... by creating circulation and oxygenation in the soft tissue and releasing muscular tension, the body releases stored toxins.
At the Northern Oasis Wellness Spa there are a number of methods available to aid in detoxifying your body.
- Far-infrared (dry) saunas
- Steam Sauna
- Steam Sauna infused with Ozone
-Therapeutic Massage;: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Soft Tissue Release, Lymphatic Drainage
-Seasonal group detox diet programs, working with Dr. Emily Kane, Naturopathic Doctor:
We host seasonal group detox sessions! Past programs have included the Master Cleanse, systematic Food Allergy programs, and Liquid/Juice cleanses. The group programs are usually 10 days to 3 weeks long, and typically consist of 3 meetings/lectures with Dr. Kane: one pre-meeting, explaining the plan with handouts, including scheduling augmentative cleanse support such as massages and/or saunas and steams, one mid-session to support, assess, and get feedback on each participant's progress, and one meeting at the end of the session.
